The maneki-neko (Japanese: 招き猫?, literally "beckoning cat") is a common Japanese figurine (lucky charm, talisman) which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner. In Hawaii, you can find a maneki-neko in almost every small business in town, hence it is part of our culture (local Hawaiian and Japanese). We wanted to put our unique spin on the lucky cat, while maintaining some of the Japanese significance.
